Privacy Policy — Oversite Debate

Oversite Technologies ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Oversite Debate application (com.oversite.debate). Oversite Debate is an AI debate app: you submit a question or topic, and multiple AI systems — Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI), and Perplexity — argue their positions to produce a structured debate. This page explains how we collect, use, and share your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register we collect a username and a password. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are stored as a one-way bcrypt hash.
Profile Information
You may optionally provide a preferred name, age, and preferences (such as your honesty preference and decision style) to personalize debate responses.
Location
With your permission, the app accesses your approximate and/or precise device location to provide locally relevant debate answers. Location is sent with your question only when you have granted permission, and is not tracked continuously in the background.
User Content
We collect the questions, topics, and messages you submit, your debate history, and the text of any documents you choose to upload as debate context.
Purchase Information
If you buy a subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status and purchase history. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Technical Data
Standard data such as your IP address may be processed to operate the service, apply rate limits, and maintain security.
How We Use Your Information

How We Share Your Information
AI providers. To generate debates, the content of your questions, messages, profile preferences, location (when provided), and uploaded document text is transmitted to third-party AI services — Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), and Perplexity — which process it to produce responses. Their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Subscription processors. Google Play Billing and RevenueCat process and manage subscriptions.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account, profile, and debate history until you delete them or request account deletion. You can delete individual debates in the app. To delete your account and all associated data, email help@oversitetechnologies.com and we will process your request.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including password hashing (bcrypt), authenticated sessions (JWT), encrypted transport (HTTPS), and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Oversite Debate is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the app.
